Morning tea with Bakers Delight!

Earlier this week I had the lovely opportunity to host a morning tea with some new treats from Bakers Delight. They have a new range of Lemon and Cream Cheese bakery items. They sent over some of them for my local playgroup, all nice and fresh.

Here we have two Lemon and Cream Cheese Swirls and 10 Lemon and Cream Cheese Scrolls. I had a bit of time to set up the table before all the ladies arrived and they all 'oooh'd and ahhhh'd' once they saw the table. I couldn't bring too many things with me, as I still had the kids and their luggage, but I used some of my nice plates with a matching tea pot for some Earl Grey tea and some Heather Bailey for a lemony touch.

Once we made our hot teas we tucked into the treats relaxed and enjoyed the lemon sensation. The Lemon Sweet Swirls/Scrolls are neither too lemony or sweet. There's a really nice balance and this wonderful scent of a bakery item that I loved. I think it could have been nutmeg? I couldn't tell so I just had to keep eating them. It could have been cinnamon ... but anyway, whatever it was it made me want to eat more. All the ladies enjoyed them as well.

The kids liked them too but admittedly the lemon and cream cheese frosting was a bit much for them so I took some off and they are the rest of it. In all seriousness, I had about one whole Swirl finished off by myself by the end of the day. There goes my diet.

They are a perfect treat to bring to a picnic or a friend's place. Here are some of the ladies enjoying the scones. A huge thankyou to Bakers Delight and of course we can't go without offering three $10 vouchers to Bakers Delight to my reader's!!!

Just leave a comment on what you like to serve as your morning tea and I'll draw a winner out next week.

Just another day.

Now that school holidays are over I can almost relax but the days seem to be busier than usual. During the holidays I didn't load too many activities as I like to balance relaxing and kids activities. Like last time we went to the movies again and watched Madagascar 3. Awesome movie. I loved it as much as the kids and yes, even the youngest enjoyed it and we didn't have one wet their pants! I had a good friend over and we made chocolate cupcakes with raspberry icing from scratch! They tasted so good we've planned to make more from my cupcake magazine!!!

If you had the day I had last week you'd be begging for a holiday. It included the kids locking the bedroom door and their brother in the cot so I was frantically using a screwdriver to open it up to make it in time for school drop-off. Then, at the shops the soy sauce bottle fell out the bottom of the bag and spilled all over the floor in front of Woolies. Then 5mins later my 3yr old decides she wants to go toilet after we only had a toilet break 5mins ago and wee's in aisle 12. It doesn't stop there, the baby has done a number 2 in his nappy and I'm in the carpark changing his nappy whilst trying to get out of Westfield before our 3 hours expires! Arghhh, but I DID IT! All with a smile and lots of patience and praying. Phew.

I finally got around to some gardening since Spring is finally in the air. Potting mix is really cheap and so there was no excuse for me not to start planting seeds. I bought a selection of Yates seeds both on-line at their ebay shop and from the supermarket. I've put some Freesia seeds in place of the dead tomato section which is near our shelter. I bought these Yates garden pot set which came with free Basil, Coriander and Parsley seeds (below). I hope they start to sprout soon. I've been diligently watering them every afternoon after I've taken in the laundry. Hubby probably thinks they won't last under my non-existent green thumbs and I'm determined to prove him wrong... this time.

I'd like to post some more pics but I'm having a bugger of a time with Blogger uploading my pictures lately. The kids have been back to swimming lessons since I've slacked off through winter. I've attended a new church Playgroup and will have a Bakers Delight hosted morning tea next week and a giveaway for my lovely readers again. So don't be shy and stop by next Tuesday, won't you.

Until then, it's full steam ahead for me.

p.s C is for Cookie, could you e-mail me your e-mail address. Your Blogger profile has a no-reply setting so I can't grab your address for the My Memories software you won. Thanks!

My Memories Suite and giveaway!

One of the gifts I recieved after the birth of my first baby was a scrap book album. I still have it at home after all these years but it's stored away, empty and waiting for my to fill it up. I had always envisioned pages full of beautiful pictures and decorations that you would see in lovely scrapbooks with heart-touching memories. I've been collecting a few bits of scrap stuff here and there but it all seems too much work and effort for someone who really can't "scrap" and "design" things. Fast forward and I've got the solution. Digital scrapbooking!

My Memories is the perfect software for those of you who like the idea and want to scrapbook but don't have the time, patience or budget to collect all the fiddly bits you need to scrapbook. Plus, once you have it all done you can print it out and keep using those images and designs forever!

My Memories is not only for scrapbooking but I used it to create the cutest quilt label. This was a free 'Howdy Cowboy' design that I easily downloaded and put in some text (names removed in the picture) and a photo. I used a blanket stitch for the border. It was that easy and it looks great. You'll love the software even for the great designs in the freebies section. I made it a smaller album size and printed it on special fabric that feeds through my inkjet printer. You do have to set your printer settings first before you load the software or it won't recognise your printer settings.

I also made these food labels using the frame templates for my daughter's birthday party. They were printed onto paper and glued to cardboard and a long skewer. If I had embroidery scissors it would have come out more scalloped but they were really cute. There are endless possibilities to using the software like creating your own invitations, posters, thankyou cards, birthday cards... you name it.

How cute is he? I created this page from another free template using a picture from his Christening. I haven't got a baby book printed out for him [last baby syndrome :( ] so I really must do something to fix that right up. There are heaps of designs you can also buy from their website and you'll just want to do so many things with My Memories Suite. Once you start playing around with it you'll find it so easy to create pages of lasting memories which you will love to print and share with everyone you know.

As a special for my readers you can get $10 off the price of the software which brings it to only $29.97 plus a $10 coupon is included to use in the store! Just use this link to get this special: My Memories Suite. That's great value.

You can also win your own copy of the My Memories Suite right here! Just visit the site and leave a comment on what design you would pick or what you think you would do with the software and I'll draw out a winner next week.
