Winner - Nestle Giveaway

Wow, I loved the food pictures you have all sent to me. I've been getting some really great ideas for dinner options for my fussy eaters. It was hard to pick but I chose the best pics/recipes that I could replicate at home. The winners of the Nestle Healthy Active Kids are Sophie, Michelle and Kou!!!

Above are Sophie's Spinach and Feta twists. They look amazing and so easy to make. I think my kids would love them too. A great lunch box filler or afternoon snack.

Here is her Kale and White Bean soup. Looks amazeballs!! Perfect for our Winter weather although my kids would smirk at the green stuff but we just have to keep trying don't we? I tell them they will just starve if they don't eat what I make for dinner.

I am loving this plate of snowpeas and broccoli. It would be something hubby and I would devour. My kids would only eat the peas inside but it's a start. I am liking the addition of sesame seeds and what is that yummy stuff in the back? Gyoza's? Yum.

This is how Michelle makes food exciting for her girls. She draws funny faces on the eggs! Awesome.
I've been doing that on the kids lunch packs. I think they enjoy it a lot more when food is fun. Good tip.

Michelle's Banana attack. Take that! Un-real banana peel.
There is nothing more healthy than taking your kids for a nature walk. Thanks Michelle for sending me those marvellous pictures of your healthy, active family.

I am loving this lasagne Kou sent me. Now a full-time stay at home mum she enjoys spending more making delicious home made dinners and baked good. Looks great.

Also, getting really hungry looking at her Thai Chicken Curry. I love curries because they don't take long to cook so long as you have organised the ingredients you need. They are too spicy for the kids so I'd have to make a milder fish soup for the kids. I make this sweet and sour Tom Yum Soup on Fridays and it goes down really well with the kids. Also, a cheaper cut of fish like Ling fillet is budget friendly to use and I add a few vegies in there.

I made these Nutella scrolls the other day. I was given some dough from my sister in law who works at the church bakery so I smothered Nutella and cut the log out to make these scrolls which did not last very long once they were out of the oven!!!!

Nestle will be sending out these Prize Packs to you. I hope you continue to live Healthy Active lives and thanks so much for sharing.

Mother's Day

If you're anything like me, you've only just realised that Mother's Day is this Sunday. I figured this out as they mentioned it at church. Then my sister texts me to tell me that we're having dinner at mums on Saturday and to bring in a plate. Above is a really old picture of my parents, me (in pink) and my youngest sister. Don't you love our hair! I don't know where the rest of the family are but this is at my grandparents place in the early 80's.

I haven't decided what to get mum yet. Last year it was boring robe and slippers. This year mum deserves something more lovely and thoughtful. She's been through a loss of her eldest daughter and she needs some pampering. She never asks for anything and always wonders why we spend our money on her. I have to get her flowers I think to start with.

I did, however, pick up this bag for myself from Strandbags. They are having sale right now. I needed to replace my green BlueBird one that my sister bought for me before as it was worn down and the clasps were not working properly anymore. This Laura Jones one is perfect and has a zillion pockets. It's easy to put in my essentials and off I go. It was also 30% off so only cost me $22.

Then I was at Kmart and I found this on the shelf. It's by one the MasterChef contestants Samira El Khafir. I had to get it as I really like the recipes inside it and it would impress my husband if I cooked more like his mum use to. It has won the Australian Mediterranean Cook Book Award 2014 so it's sure to be a hit in any household who likes Lebanese food.

I really hope that all you mums out there have a wonderful Mother's Day. I know the kids are getting excited about the Mother's Day Stall tomorrow. It's really cute and my kindy girl will surely bring me back something I love. So have a relaxing weekend and stay tuned to this space for some more regular posting. Don't forget to send in entry in the Giveaway below!!!

Apologies everyone as I previously said there would be two giveaways but alas there will be just the current Nestle Healthy Active Kids one open (below) until 15th May.
