Stitches and Craft Goodness

I sooo enjoyed the Stitches and Craft Show in Rosehill. Luckily for me it's only a 15min drive and I had my lovely sister to help me out. The other great thing about going on the second last show day was that there were marked down prices. There were 4 levels of craftiness and even though we got there after midday I was exhausted by the end of the day.

I met the really wonderful Fiona of Dearfii (whom I won my free ticket from) and I couldn't leave this lovely pincushion in her stall. I was drawn to it immediately and had to take it home.

Funnily enough, I bought some scrapbooking supplies. A friend of mine had given me a scrapbooking album when I was pregnant with my first and I just never got around to using it. Now that I have some supplies I am definately going to get creative.
It also helped that sis subscribed to a scrapbook magazine for just $36/yr with two back issues we got to take home that day. Awesome.

This is the pack I got from Sprout. It was only $10, I wish I'd got another one with girly designs. I can't wait to applique them onto t-shirts for Little Man. He is really missing out of my craftiness.

I made this Lazy Days Skirt for Little Miss. It took one night but I still need to add ribbon to the hem. She looks really cute in it but her bum sticks out a bit making the back shorter. Shhhh, I won't tell her that or she'll get a complex. One more week til her 3rd birthday! Better get started on that dress.

Life is getting much more tiring these days. The kids want to sit on my belly or lap. I just can't tell where one starts and the other ends : ) Spring is definately in the air. I just want to drag my sewing machine out to the backyard and sew while the kids play in the cubby house. So many things I want to make: cradle canopy cover, baby quilt, baby mobile, bathroom curtain, tote bag, t-shirts, summer clothes for the kids.... ho hum.

Just patting my belly and enjoying time at home with just two littlies while I can.

Invisible zipper foot - Birch

I thought I might shed some light on the invisible zipper foot. I bought a Birch model from Spotlight and it came in a little plastic bag with four blue shanks and a rolling foot. First I removed the standard foot from my Janome sewing machine (Sewist 521). I realised I still needed to remove the shank, which is the part that is screwed on, and holds the interchangeable feet. So with one hand holding the screwdriver and one hand holding my daughter, who just had to watch, it popped out disappeared somewhere. NO! I was about to kick myself but luckily I found it in the basket underneath my table. Phew. The Birch invisible zipper foot comes with one shank already in place so you know how it's suppose to fit. You have to select the correct shank that fits your machine and slide it onto the foot piece. I just tried each blue part on my machine and made sure it was wide enough to cover the metal leg bit and that I could fit the screw in it's side. Once you find the correct shank sl
